The North Londoners have been heavily linked with a big money swoop for the 20 year old in recent weeks as they look to bolster their attacking options.
The former midfielder feels that Draxler would slot straight into Wenger’s side as they look to end their trophy drought this season.
According to Spox.com, he said:
Julian is a good player. He’s young and has a lot of potential for development.
When I watch him play, I always think that he fits perfectly with Arsenal’s style of football.
I can see him playing well on the left-hand side or in attack. He could really strengthen the team.
The Arsenal Legend has admitted that he was touched by Wenger’s recent statement that he sees similarities between the French star and record signing Mesut Ozil.

It’s a huge honour that I am spoken in the same breath as Mesut. He plays for the German national team, he’s played for Real Madrid.
That such a great player has chosen us, brings great confidence to the club…especially to the younger players who gain security from him. In his position as a playmaker he’s the best in the world.
Draxler is certainly a top level player and seems set to follow in the footsteps of Mesut Ozil and Mario Goetze to become the latest in Gemany’s remarkable production line of attacking talent. His career has predominantly been seen on the flanks and it seems that Wenger will eye him up for a centre forward position, if we sign him.
His commitment and hunger to succeed would perfectly match with Arsenal’s desire for a return to winning ways. Wenger must act to snap him now rather than leave it until the summer and risk having to enter a bidding war with other interested clubs.
His dribbling skills and style of play fit seemlessly into the Gunners playing philosophy and there is little doubt he would make an impact in the title race just as Reyes and to a lesser extent Andrey Arshavin did when they secured big money moves to north London in January.
Do you think we will sign Draxler this month?
