Some excellent football from the Gunners, a tidy four goals from Yaya Sanogo and a debut goal for Joel Campbell resulted in a pulsating 5-1 victory for Arsene Wenger’s side.
Here are the player ratings from the Emirates Cup fixture:
Martinez 7.0: Was solid when called upon, cannot be faulted for the goal.
Bellerin 7.0: An excellent performance from the young Spaniard. You can tell he’s been a winger before with his excellent attacking instinct. A real handful going forward. Should have done better with the Benfica goal, poor marking.
Chambers 7.0: Confident in possession and appears to be a genuine option at centre half. Probably the likely candidate to partner Koscielny against City next weekend.

Monreal 6.5: Not a natural centre half but did a good job. Not quite the marshaling presence we need alongside the developing Chambers. Was replaced by Miquel midway through the second half.
Gibbs 6.5: Didn’t have much of an impact on proceedings apart from the excellent cross for Sanogo’s third, wasn’t particularly worked at the back either.
Flamini 6.0: Burst into life with a horrible foul, but was relatively subdued. Did his job and was replaced with Arteta later on.
Ramsey 8.0: Classy outing from the Welshman, dancing around the Benfica midfield and defence. Picking up where he left off last season, however didn’t quite muster a goal. Replaced later on for Wilshere.
Rosicky 6.0: Pretty quiet from Little Mozart. Replaced around the hour mark.
Ox 6.5: Great to see the Ox back, running at defenders and stretching the defence. Was relatively quiet overall however and replaced by Santi at half time.
Campbell 7.5: A very explosive debut capped with a goal. Was a constant threat and certainly put the right foot forward ahead of the new season. Replaced by Sanchez.
Sanogo 9.5: Finally off the mark with a tidy four goals from the Frenchman. Looked lively up top but still needs to pull the trigger at times. A hilarious character really, nice trip while celebrating. Came off for Akpom.
Cazorla, Wilshere, Coquelin, Arteta, Miquel, Akpom and most notably Sanchez all played a part in proceedings. Not really worth rating, Coquelin had a decent crack at goal but that made up for a couple of mistakes in dodgy situations.
