Arsene Wenger looks set to welcome back Theo Walcott after two months out, however it is still uncertain whether he will start against his former side Southampton on Saturday.
The backline will be restored to its usual quartet of Sagna, Koscielny, Mertesacker and Gibbs with all four featuring for just one match or less for their respective countries over the recent break.
In midfield, Wenger’s job is made a little easier with Mathieu Flamini suspended after receiving his fifth yellow card against United, meaning Mikel Arteta will be the defensive midfielder with Aaron Ramsey likely to slot in alongside him.
Mesut Ozil will play ahead of Arteta and Ramsey with Santi Cazorla on the left. The right wing could be occupied by Theo Walcott if he’s given the nod by Wenger, but after two months out and not even a match for the reserves under his belt there is a real possibility the Englishman may have to settle for a spot on the bench in favour of Rosicky (if fit) or else Wilshere who perhaps could swap with Ramsey. Personally I’d love to see Serge Gnabry have a crack at the resilient Saints backline but Wenger appears reluctant to call on the youngster.
Here is allArsenal’s predicted lineup, a little hopeful maybe but the Gunners boss may have little choice but to field Walcott should Rosicky be unavailable.
