A nervy victory for the Gunners as they climb to third again. Here are Arsenal’s player ratings.
Wojciech Szczesny | 7.5: Saved a very dangerous shot from Remy with seven minutes to go and denied Townsend on one occasion. Overall had a strong match but wasn’t very safe on the corners, though.

Bacary Sagna | 6.5: His defending was much better than last week. However, if his crosses were fighting vampires, we would live in a world of Dracula – they were as wasteful as they can be.
Per Mertesacker | 7.5: Cleared everything in front of our goal that Koscielny didn’t. Another solid performance.
Laurent Koscielny | 7.5: Cleared everything in front of our goal that Mertesacker didn’t. Hence the clean sheet!
Nacho Monreal | 5.5: Not exactly the best performance as he couldn’t deal with Townsend. Had a couple of promising runs forward but nothing spectacular. Earned himself a yellow card for a cynical foul on Townsend just outside the box.
Mikel Arteta | 8.5: Man of the match by a mile. He was tackling, winning balls in the midfield and fighting like a true captain to prevent the lead he created with a lovely pass to Walcott.
Aaron Ramsey | 7.5: He should have been better in his attacking duties, he was dwelling on the ball again and his passing wasn’t always the best. However, his work-rate and defensive work made him a player worthy of Gooners’ respect as he totally respects the shirt he is wearing.
Tomas Rosicky | 6.5: There are not too many players in our team who could make a delightful direct pass like Rosicky. However, despite he did a decent job today, he was tired and should have been substituted earlier.
Theo Walcott | 7.5: He scored the goal (fastest goal in the League this year) and was unlucky to only hit the post when another opportunity turned up. He wasn’t very dangerous in the second half and our tactics with long balls hoping that Theo would do something against strong QPR defenders didn’t help either.
Santi Cazorla | 7.0: He was much better in the second half and practically our only creative player. Forced Green to make a decent save. What is more important, Cazorla gave his best effort to help defending as well!
Lukas Podolski | 5.0: Participated a bit when we scored the goal. Apart from that, he was mostly invisible and wasteful whenever he received the ball. One of the worst performances this season and it seems that his fitness level aren’t the best. He will have to do much, much better to persuade anyone, never mind Wenger, that he deserves the central forward role more than the No.9 he got when he joined Arsenal.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain | 5.5: Didn’t show too much when he replaced Podolski.
Jack Wilshere | N/A: Replaced Cazorla for tactical reasons.
Thomas Vermaelen | N/A: Replaced Rosicky for tactical reasons.
