Speed, a married father of two was found hanging at his home on the outskirts of Chester on Sunday morning by police. The Cheshire constabulary said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey who had been handed the captaincy for the Welsh side by Gary Speed took to twitter to speak out and offer his sympathies on this tragic event:
I was given the tragic news this morning. To say I am devastated is an understatement. My thoughts and prayers go out to Gary’s family and friends. Today the world has lost a great football manager but even more sadly, a great man. He will be missed by all.
