Arsenal have reportedly bid for Real Madrid star Angel di Maria, if this piece by Daily Star is to be believed, with a source close to the player revealing the Gunners are among two other clubs to have placed ‘concrete offers’.
The attacker, who was rightfully awarded the Man of the Match award in Madrid’s Champions League triumph, is apparently exploring the idea of moving elsewhere and has a number of suitors after another impressive season in the Spanish capital.
The Argentine international dazzled in Saturday’s final, playing in a deeper, more central role with Cristiano Ronaldo occupying the left flank. He set up Bales winner after another of his mesmerizing runs into the box, and is no doubt worth a fortune after managing an incredible 17 assists this season in La Liga, banging in four goals despite not being a regular feature in the side.
Arsenal are in need of strengthening their attack and adding some further width to the squad. They were also linked with di Maria last summer before Mesut Ozil made the move to north London on deadline day. It appears they’ve made another move for the Real Madrid winger, with a source close to the star telling UOL Sport:
It is true that he is leaving because he wants to go.
It is very likely that he will leave before the end of the World Cup in Brazil.

Arsenal, PSG and Monaco have all made concrete offers for Angel.
But there is still interest from Manchester City, Manchester United and Juventus.
The suggestions of his departure seem a little crazy for a player who has been so integral to the side this season. He’s played a reasonable 34 games this season in La Liga, 27 of which were starts, but perhaps he is growing tired of being in Ronaldo and Bale’s shadow.
If he is indeed available he would be a huge signing for the Gunners, but would come at a hefty price especially with a contract that runs until 2018. Wenger has shown he is happy to invest in the quality we need, the 26-year-old would command a fee somewhere in the region of £30m.
It will take some serious graft from Arsenal to pull this coup off, Madrid boss Ancelotti is pulling out all the stops to keep him in Madrid, while the likes of Ronaldo among others have joined their boss in an attempt to retain the slippery winger.
The di Maria deal seems very far fetched and unlikely, but he is undoubtedly a massive player and someone who could really help transform our attack, injecting a vast amount of skill and pace into our frontline. Best of all, we can offer him a permanent spot on the left wing. But money talks.
Should we spend big on di Maria? He would be huge asset if he came..Don’t you agree?
