Hector Bellerin was among a number of Arsenal stars that joined in with an early pre-season training session this past Tuesday morning, and there was a rather shocking revelation from the young Spaniard.
He was pictured in Arsenal’s training kit, but he was wearing the No.24 shirt rather than his usual No.39.
The 20-year-old can clearly be seen wearing the No.24 in his latest Instagram snap, with the shirt left vacant by the recently departed Abou Diaby.
Bellerin was absolutely phenomenal last season, and his rise to prominence was particularly important given Mathieu Debuchy’s bad luck with injuries.
The Frenchman may well struggle to wrestle a starting spot back off his young teammate, as Bellerin barely put a foot wrong last season. He is unquestionably more than capable of being our right-back for years to come, so might it only be a matter of time before he gets the No.2 shirt?
