After suffering fatigue of the groin against Manchester City, Wenger has stated that left full-back Kieran Gibbs has a 50% chance of playing against Wigan.
Personally speaking I would prefer the young Englishman to play with Santos looking a little rusty and a little lacking on the defensive front. In saying this though if Arsenal dominate Wigan as they did Wolves Santos shouldn’t have much defensive duties to fulfil.
On the attacking front, Wenger also stated that Gervinho is a strong chance to play. As of late we have used Ramsey and Benayoun in the vacant wide positions and while Benayoun has done well it will be great to see a specialist winger out on the flank.
In further news Wenger has said both Diaby and Coquelin are ready to join full-training next week. Both Coquelin and Diaby have missed large spells of Arsenal’s season and will be keen to hopefully make an injury free return.
Wenger said to Arsenal.com:
on any new injuries…
From the Wolves game, no. We have the usual bumps and bruises after a game of that intensity, but overall no I don’t think anybody has a problem.

There is a possibility for Gibbs [to play against Wigan]. It is 50:50 that he will be available again. He is improving day to day and has been practising but not with the team.
Gervinho is a strong possibility to face Wigan, he is 80:20.
on Diaby and Coquelin…
Diaby will not play against Wigan. He is alright though. Diaby and Coquelin will come back into the squad next week for full training.
