Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has wished Petr Cech the best of luck despite his move to us and encouraged Blues fans to do the same while conducting a Q&A in America.
Cech made the journey across London that many players dread and after being dropped to the bench for Thibaut Courtois last season, he is now our bona fide first choice.
Lampard, therefore, states that Cech’s professionalism and his conduct despite being relegated to the bench following his wonderful service mean that he’s earned the right to still receive adulation.
“I don’t think there’s many situations where, as a group of Chelsea fans, we will say ‘fair enough, good luck at Arsenal’, but I think with Pete (Cech) he’s the one exception to the rule,” Lampard told the fans.
“He’s such a great bloke, we wouldn’t have won the Champions League without him – without a shadow of a doubt.”

The constant comments coming from former Chelsea players and staff should make us realise that we’ve acquired a truly world-class player from a direct rival.
Cech has been involved in some of the biggest games over the past decade and is revered all over the world as one of the best shot-stoppers on the planet.
Considering that we’ve struggled to replace the likes of David Seaman and Jens Lehmann since their departure, the arrival of Cech is a monumental one.
