Jack Wilshere’s season has reportedly ended prematurely after the midfielder suffered a suspected broken leg in Bournemouth’s defeat to Tottenham on Saturday.
The 25-year-old was forced out of the clash after a challenge from striker Harry Kane and multiple reports are now claiming he has suffered a suspected hairline leg fracture.
Wilshere has reportedly undergone a CT scan which has revealed the extent of the problem although the midfielder is still awaiting official confirmation that he has suffered a fracture.
The England international is set to have further tests on the injury and if is indeed as bad as feared will not play again this season.
Wilshere is also likely to return to Arsenal for rehabilitation after spending the season on loan at Bournemouth.
If the reports turn out to be true, it is yet another huge blow for Wilshere who has suffered more than his fair share of injuries throughout his career.

Wilshere had been managing regular football under Eddie Howe, making 27 Premier League appearances for the Cherries this season, although he has not had quite the impact many had expected.
Despite seeing plenty of action Wilshere is still yet to score for Bournemouth and has managed just two assists all season.
The midfielder’s future is also the subject of much debate. Like several Arsenal stars his current deal is due to expire next summer and although Arsene Wenger has hinted he would like to keep the 25-year-old no new deal has yet been agreed.
