Lacazette caught the attention of the footballing world last season by scoring 27 league goals in 33 appearances, putting him behind only Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo across Europe’s top five leagues (via Squawka).
Having previously stated that they will not accept anything below €50million for Lacazette (via The Guardian), it seems as though they’ve lowered their asking price with contract talks hitting a snag, as per The Telegraph.
Arsenal transfer news
Signing a top class forward should be among our priorities this summer, but Arsene Wenger will naturally be hesitant as to whether Lacazette is a player of true pedigree or a ‘one season wonder’.
The last time we signed a player who generated a sudden buzz – Andrey Arshavin happened.

Olivier Giroud was also acquired by Wenger after a prolific season in Ligue 1, and the boss will certainly want to make sure he’s adding significant quality to our forward line.
However, Wenger has always loved a bargain, and if the above price is what Lyon are willing to accept, a move for the 24-year-old could become a realistic possibility.
