Most Arsenal fans are in agreement that we need a new striker this summer, even if Arsene Wenger won’t admit it. The latest player to be linked with a move to the Emirates, rather bizarrely, is Zlatan Ibrahimovic, with Paris Saint-Germain reportedly telling the Swede he can leave the club this summer, as reported by the Daily Mail.
PSG are seemingly looking to get the wayfaring striker off their books, and have suggested he’d be available for a knock down price.
A source from the Daily Mail claims the transfer would “not be expensive, although everyone knows his wages are huge and there will be no re-sale value.”
The 33-year-old is unquestionably a talented striker, and has helped guide many a side to glory. He scores goals wherever he goes – scoring 30, 41, and 35 goals in his last three seasons – and his size and power means he would be perfectly suited for the rigours of the Premier League.
However, there are a number of stumbling blocks likely to prevent a transfer, least of all his aforementioned colossal wages. We have a rather strict wage structure at Arsenal, and have only recently seen the acquisition of players like Mesut Özil and Alexis Sanchez.
If his wage history is anything to go by (via the Daily Mail), Ibrahimovic would demand to be far and away the highest paid player at the club. This fact combined with his massive ego would make this move an extremely risky one.

Although he doesn’t rely on his pace much, you would still say the former Barcelona star is past his best at close to 34-years-old. It’s difficult to see this one happening, regardless of the impact he may have upon his arrival this season. Manchester United are also interested (according to the Daily Mail), and we are unlikely to match their wages.
