Mario Gotze has been linked with a move away from Bayern Munich this summer, with the German World Cup hero seemingly having been unhappy under current boss Pep Guardiola for quite some time (via the Daily Mail).
The 23-year-old has now been told by Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge to make a decision regarding his future, and either accept the competition for places or leave the club.
“Mario has to make a decision,” Rummenigge said (via the Express).
“Of course there is big competition in his position but we all know how long his contract is – he has two more years.”
The German giants looked to have made a superb signing when they brought Gotze to the club for £32m (via Sky Sports), but he hasn’t had the impact they might have hoped for.
He is still a top quality player however, and would unquestionably add something to our side. His versatility would be a huge bonus and makes him a far more appealing prospect for Arsene Wenger.

The former Borussia Dortmund star may not be exactly what we need at the moment, but it would be hard to turn him down if the opportunity to sign him arose. The Express’ report suggests we are facing competition from Manchester United for his signature, so we may need to move quickly.
