Olivier Giroud has come out with a bit of a revelation, and claims a huge number of footballers smoke, according to the Metro.
Giroud has been speaking in the wake of the Wojciech Szczesny smoking scandal, and has suggested that a number of players at the club smoke.
“Everyone knows that there are a lot of players who smoke,” he said.
“In every team there are four or five. It doesn’t shock me. In rugby, they also smoke. And nobody is shocked.”
When a player is caught smoking by the media, there is always a huge furor around it. Jack Wilshere has experienced the wrath of the public for his past mistakes, and his Polish teammate has now faced the consequences as well.
Giroud might not be one of the players that smokes, but he may have inadvertently dropped a few of his fellow Gunners into hot water with his comments.

Obviously we don’t want to see any of our players smoking, as there are fears it will have an impact on their fitness and longevity in an Arsenal shirt. The odd puff is unlikely to prove too detrimental however, and the media attention received is possibly a bit over the top.
