According to Bild, Arsene Wenger may be willing to cash in Lukas Podolski this summer with a number of clubs interested in his services.
The World Cup winner who has been on the fringes with both club and country over the past twelve months, is being courted by several clubs around Europe his agent has confirmed, with Turkish outfit Galatasaray among the favourites.
Apparently Wenger will listen to offers of around £12million for the attacker who has been primarily deployed on the left wing during his time in north London and struggled to lead the line himself.
The report is suggesting there is interest from Turkey, the USA, Spain and the Bundesliga, while the player himself has never shied away from talking up a return to former club Cologne.
Poldi’s agent Nassim Touihri confirmed yesterday (translated):
There have always been questions. Now we have a concrete interest from some teams. Lukas is in London but feels good.
The 29-year-old is contracted until 2016 and while he may not be a first choice starter week in, week out he is a powerful presence within the club both on and off the field.

A quick look at his goalscoring stats suggest his incredible impact even when he isn’t playing regularly. 8 goals, two assists in 20 games last campaign in what was an injury plagued season for the German is not to be sniffed at and then a further 11 goals in the season before. Not bad for a winger.
With Alexis Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Santi Cazorla and (when fit) Theo Walcott all ahead of him in the pecking order out wide, it’s not difficult to see why there are suggestions he may leave. But we always seem to need more players due to injuries and Podolski’s efficiency in front of goal is always useful from the bench.
There have been suggestions his departure could pave the way for Joel Campbell to step up inside the Gunners squad, but I’m not convinced the Costa Rican can be as effective. If we can squeeze one more season out of Podolski then we should do it. He’s a handy player even though there are obvious deficiencies in his game.
Do you agree? Or do you think Wenger should cash in on the player this summer?
