Despite Mohamed Elneny seemingly on the verge of being announced as an Arsenal star (via the Metro), we’re still being linked with a host of midfielders. Adrien Rabiot is one player we continue to be linked with, and the Frenchman’s agent was reportedly in London recently in order to finalise his client’s switch to north London, according to the Daily Star.
The 20-year-old has struggled for regular first team football at Paris Saint-Germain, and is clearly looking to establish himself somewhere else. The report suggests a €20m (£15m) bid would be enough to lure him away from the Ligue 1 champions, and for a young player of Rabiot’s quality that is arguably a bargain.
The midfielder is one of the most highly rated prospects around in his position, and looks to have a bright future ahead of him. A talented, young, Frenchman would be Arsene Wenger’s bread and butter, so it’s certainly not hard to see why we’re being linked with Rabiot.
There are question marks over whether he’s what we need however, as he plays in a position we are currently well stocked in. He’s not quite a defensive midfielder – which was obviously a priority before the consistent links to Elneny emerged – and we have the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, and Santi Cazorla playing a little further forward.
Rabiot’s quality certainly isn’t in question, but whether he’d see any more game time at Arsenal than he does currently at PSG is definitely debatable.

This one doesn’t seem all that likely, despite it seeming like a real Wenger transfer. It is more likely to be a case of the same rumours being trotted out each window, and yet again Rabiot may stay where he is.
