Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain claims that joining Arsenal so young meant it was not easy to settle in, but surprisingly revealed it was Emmanuel Eboue who helped him establish himself at the Emirates, as reported by on Arsenal‘s official website.
The Ox made the switch to Arsenal at just 17-years-old, after putting in a number of hugely impressive displays for Southampton.
He followed in the footsteps of Theo Walcott, and immediately looked to be a fantastic prospect.
Recounting his first ever training session at Arsenal, Chamberlain revealed how the jovial nature of Eboue helped him settle in and made him feel right at home with his new teammates.
“I remember my first training session,” he said.

“I think I was just coming back from an ankle injury as well.
“As I arrived, my first session was with Robin van Persie and Emmanuel Eboue – just the three of us doing passing drills.
“I remember I couldn’t even pass the ball more than five yards in the first 10 minutes. Eboue made me feel comfortable and welcome with his jokes and his laughing and I settled into it a little bit more.
“It’s been a great experience for me, now I feel like this is home.”
Chamberlain is a fan favourite at Arsenal, and has been an important fixture in the first team this season.
He may not have reached the lofty heights expected of him just yet, but it is clear we have a player of real quality on our hands.
We should be eternally grateful to Eboue for helping him settle in at the club, as he surely still has an incredibly bright future at Arsenal.
