The transfer season is in full swing and the rumours continue to fly about with Alexis Sanchez rarely out of the headlines.
However, the latest claims suggest the Chilean has just given a huge hint about his future.
A report in today’s Metro, claims Sanchez was asked directly if he would be joining Bayern Munich, following yesterday’s clash with Germany.
“Bild’s reporter for Germany’s national team, Heiko Niedderer, claims that when he directly asked Sanchez if he was joining Bayern, the Chilean grinned and replied ‘no’,” says the report, before swiftly backtracking a little.
“Niedderer also pointed out that Sanchez’s response could have implied that he was not taking questions about his future as opposed to ruling out the possibility of a transfer to Carlo Ancelotti’s side.”
Tenuous? Just a little bit, although it is noticeable that the rumours surrounding Alexis and Bayern have quietened down recently.

Does this mean Sanchez is staying? We can certainly hope so, although talk of a move to Manchester City refuses to go away, despite claims Arsenal will refuse to sell to Pep Guardiola’s side.
What we can expect is that little will actually happen on the Sanchez front until after the Confederations Cup, and possibly longer, with the Chilean set to take a holiday after his international commitments.
Instead we may well have to tolerate a few more weeks of huge speculation and hope, in the meantime, that the club can keep hold of him.
