Alexis Sanchez is back in London ahead of his Arsenal return but he has done so with the company of his lawyer, fuelling speculation.
It took a couple of days longer than expected but Alexis Sanchez is finally back in London after his summer away from the club.
Alexis Sanchez spent the summer representing his country in the Confederations Cup and was due to return for pre-season training on Sunday morning.
That return was put on hold after Sanchez was struck down with an illness as Arsene Wenger said at the time.
“He has flu,” Wenger said on Saturday. “I had him on text [on Friday], he will come back as soon as possible.
“We were in touch with him and his doctor. No basic problem except he should come back tomorrow [Sunday] but now he comes back Tuesday.”

Wenger was spot on in that regard. Sanchez has been linked with a move away from the club all summer long and his entourage only fuelled speculation.
The Chilean was joined on his flight to London by his lawyer, Ruben Inostroza Povea which sparked speculation. Could Povea merely be joining him on the flight or is he here to negotiate with Arsenal – be that for a new contract or a move away from the club?
That remains to be seen but still, it’s good to see Alexis Sanchez back in London. Hopefully, the Chilean is in good physical condition and won’t need a great deal of pre-season training in order to get back up to speed ahead of next Sunday’s Community Shield at Wembley.
