Alexis Sanchez got through an extraordinary amount of work over the course of his debut season at Arsenal, and it was perhaps a surprise that the Chilean didn’t suffer more of a burn out or an injury during the campaign.
It looks as though things have finally caught up with him during the Copa America however, with a tweet from ESPN reporter Ben Dinnery suggesting the 26-year-old could be set for a spell on the sidelines.
The tweet claims he is a doubt for this weekend’s clash with Bolivia, with tests revealing some bad news. The former Barcelona man is suffering from muscular fatigue, and if he isn’t given an extended break then he could end up doing himself some serious damage.

Alexis enjoyed a superb first season at the Emirates, and finished the campaign as our top scorer. He will no doubt be hoping to kick on in 2015/16, and an injury now could certainly effect those plans.

He had a fairly successful first year in North London, lifting the Community Shield and the FA Cup – as well as helping us qualify for the Champions League yet again. Hopefully he can remain injury free so we can improve on that next year, and challenge for the more prestigious Premier League and the Champions League trophies.
