Arsenal v Everton
Barclays Premier League
Emirates Stadium
Kick off: December 08, 2013 4:00 PM BST
With yesterday’s results going the way they did, today’s game against Everton is a fantastic opportunity for us. Chelsea and Man City’s results mean that not only do we keep our four point margin before the game, but we have the chance against the Toffees to guarantee that we will be top of the league come Christmas morning; a gift I’m sure every Gooner wishes for.

The game didn’t start positively though, Everton dominating possession and looking really dangerous going forward. Oviedo was looking extremely threatening down our right side, putting cross after cross in. Thankfully Mertesacker was commanding in the air, clearing every ball. Likewise Koscielny was dealing with the strength and pace of Lukaku superbly, cutting out balls forward to the Belgian, and shepherding him away from goal when necessary.
For the first half an hour or so, Arsenal barely saw the ball, and didn’t register a single shot on goal. Everton were creating some decent chances, and putting good balls into the box. Barkley and Lukaku were looking particularly threatening as the half went on.
Approaching half time however, it was Arsenal that looked most threatening. The Gunners suddenly came to life, creating a number of decent chances in a matter of minutes. Giroud was put through on goal twice with good one touch passing, once given offside and once having his shot well saved by Howard. Ramsey was also denied by the American keeper, but we looked the far more likely to go ahead in the dying minutes of the half.
Nevertheless, the half ended 0-0, with Everton dominating on the stats board. We need to come out in the second half with more intent and play the way we did in the closing minutes of the forty five. Still anybodies game.
