Arsenal v Borussia Dortmund
UEFA Champions League
Emirates Stadium
Kick off: October 22, 2013 7:45 PM BST
A slow and sloppy start, combined with a painful late counter attacking goal from Lewandowski, results in Arsenal losing 2-1 to Dortmund. The group is now wide open with Dortmund, Napoli and ourselves all on 6 points. Here are the player ratings:

Wojciech Szczesny | 7.0: The only time he really had anything to do was the 2 Dortmund goals. The rest of the German’s chances on goal were long shots that didn’t trouble the pole.
Bacary Sagna | 7.5: Was fantastic attacking and getting up the pitch, got an assist despite his crossing not being the best on the night. Was caught up the pitch way too often considering Dortmund’s counter attacking prowess, but is that down to the tactics rather than the player?
Laurent Koscielny | 7.0: Decent performance by the French defender, our whole defence seemed a bit all over the place for brief periods of the game though; Flamini effect?
Per Mertesacker | 7.0: Won a lot of vital headers, but didn’t control the defence as much as I felt he should have.
Kieran Gibbs | 7.5: Was a good attacking outlet, and despite getting caught up the pitch a lot, showed excellent determination and really used his pace to get back and make up for it.
Aaron Ramsey | 6.5: Really thought the Welshman was poor tonight. Sloppy passing for a lot of the game, caught in possession on several occasions, and a victim of his own success, guilty of overconfidence on the edge of his own box. I think it’s due to tiredness, really needs a rest against Palace.
Mikel Arteta | 8.0: Was really solid in that holding role tonight. I don’t think he quite brings the aggression that Flamini has been giving us, but his composure, passing and reliability was superb.
Mesut Özil | 7.0: Was anonymous for a lot of the game, especially in the first half. Was always just a moment away from brilliance though, popped up with a few great passes and runs.
Thomas Rosicky | 7.5: As ever was giving 110%, not everything was going right for him, but his commitment and determination drives other players on.
Jack Wilsere | 7.0: Wasn’t great in the first half but really started to kick on in the second half when he was pushed into the centre. Picked up an ankle injury of some kind, carried on for a while though so hopefully it’s nothing serious.
Olivier Giroud | 8.0: The big Frenchman was superb again tonight. Was one of the only players really trying and giving it his all in the first half, and his determination paid off when he got his goal. A lot of good hold up play too which benefited the team greatly. With better service tonight he could have done a lot more I feel.
Substitutes:
Santi Cazorla | 8.0: Was only on in the second half but his impact was astounding. Completely changed the dynamic of the game and was really unlucky not to get on the score sheet after rattling the crossbar. His passing and vision was fantastic.
Nicklas Bendtner | N/A: By the time he came on Dortmund were sat by our corner flag.
Serge Gnabry | N/A: Was barely on the pitch.
