Arsenal v Liverpool
Barclays Premier League
Kick off: November 2, 2013 5:30 PM BST
A fantastic Arsenal performance sees us put two past Liverpool, but it could easily have been many more. This win puts us five points clear at the top of the table. Here are the player ratings:
Wojciech Szczesny | 8.5: Aside from one silly mistake, almost gifting Sturridge a goal, the young Pole was outstanding tonight. He claimed everything that came his way and was out quickly when necessary to smother any oncoming threats.

Bacary Sagna | 8.0: Superb attacking threat, getting the assist for the first goal. Put in a great shift defensively too, showing his experience with a tactical foul to prevent Suarez getting one on one with Gibbs.
Laurent Koscielny | 9.0: Absolutely outstanding tonight, had ‘SaS’ in his back pocket. Stuck close to Suarez and really kept him quiet, winning everything in the air and asserting his dominance across the back line.
Per Mertesacker | 7.5: Another great partnership with his French defensive partner, really complimented each other well tonight.
Kieran Gibbs | 7.5: Played well throughout the game, overlapping on several occasions and threatening Liverpool’s goal. Unfortunately got an injury late on, hopefully he won’t be out for long.
Aaron Ramsey | 8.0: Was slightly sloppy on occasions in the first half, but was getting into great positions consistently. Took his goal fantastically, smashing it into the top corner giving Mignolet no chance. If his final ball was slightly better tonight he could have got an assist or two as well.
Mikel Arteta | 9.0: (MotM) Mikel was ever present in front of our back line, squeezing Liverpool’s attacking players and not allowing them space. He covered a huge amount of ground, making some vital tackles. When he did break forward and attack he did superbly as well, initiating the move for Arsenal’s first goal.
Mesut Özil | 7.0: Not the German’s best game, his touch surprisingly letting him down on occasions, and his passing wasn’t up to his usual standard. He was linking up and getting into good positions, but when it came to the final ball or the finish in front of goal, he was a little off tonight.
Santi Cazorla | 8.5: The little Spaniard was all over the pitch, a constant threat to Liverpool’s goal and tracking back when he needed to. Was unlucky to hit the post, but capitalized and smashed in the rebound.
Thomas Rosicky | 7.5: Put in a good shift, constantly trying to make things happen and bursting forward.
Olivier Giroud | 8.5: Almost a contender for MotM, his hold up play was once again superb and invaluable to our game. He brought players into the game and set up a number of chances for his team mates. Unfortunately missed a couple of good opportunities to score.
Nacho Monreal| 7.5: Was a threat when he came on, made a number of good runs and put in some good cut backs. Was unlucky not to get an assist.
Thomas Vermaelen | 7.0: Did well played out of his usual position, didn’t put a foot wrong.
Carl Jenkinson | 7.0: Was aggressive and motivated when he came on, picked up a needless yellow card though.
