Arsenal are edging closer to the signing of midfielder Lucas Torreira after “agreeing” on a deal with Sampdoria (via The Guardian).
It now only appears like a matter of time until Lucas Torreira completes his move from Sampdoria to Arsenal.
The 22-year-old midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to North London for the past week but it seems that things have accelerated today.
Reports in England and Italy claim that Arsenal and Sampdoria have agreed on a €30 million deal for the player.
Torreira was strongly linked with a number of other big sides including Napoli and did have a €25 million release clause in his contract.
However, it seems that the Gunners have bid more to land the man who made 36 appearances for Sampdoria in Serie A last season.

Lucas Torreira would be a wonderful signing for Arsenal. He is a hardworking midfielder capable of breaking up play and starting moves on his own. Torreira is currently away with the Uruguay national team but the Gunners will be hoping to conclude this deal in the next few days.
