Arsenal are reportedly inching towards a summer deal for Loic Remy after agreeing personal terms with the striker, according to reports in Metro.
The 27 year old, who spent last season on loan at Newcastle United, scored 14 goals from 26 league appearances and his form with the Magpies has attracted interest from a host of top Premier League clubs.
The report suggests that the Gunners have already agreed terms with Queens Park Rangers over a summer move. The French international is also a target for Liverpool and Tottenham, while he himself admitted that he would like to join Chelsea this week.
However, Arsenal have beaten Remy’s other suitors to the punch, by snapping him up ahead of the World Cup which starts in under two weeks. It is believed that the North London club will have to pay around £10 million for his services.
The striker has been selected in the 23 man France squad and will be on the plane to Brazil this summer to compete with compatriot and current Arsenal target man Olivier Giroud.

Remy appeared in the Emirates crowd back in May to watch Arsenal’s 1-0 win over West Brom, an appearance which sparked rumours that he could be on his way to the red half of North London. However, Wenger ridiculed the news by claiming that he had no knowledge of any inside information regarding a deal.
He has superb acceleration, he likes to make runs off the shoulders of defenders and his pace means he finds himself in a lot of one-on-one situations. He’s not bad in the air too, as he has netted a number of headers while he can also be deployed out wide on either flank.
The striker position is one that desperately needs addressing this summer, as the demands of the League combined with domestic competitions and Champions League, rested too much on the shoulders of Olivier Giroud last season. The Frenchman has been the Gunners only option to lead the line for much of the season and Sanogo did not provide much cover or competition for him.
The versatile forward has also been compared to Arsenal icon Henry, due to his good technical ability and tendency to drift in from wide areas. He would not only boost our attack considering his speed, scoring ability and shot power but could prove provide support for Giroud. He will be a great signing for Arsenal and if we could bring in another out and out striker to supplement Remy then we would be good to go.
