Jack Wilshere is nearing a return to injury after missing the whole season, and believes once he’s back he can help us to the title. The injured Arsenal star claims we’re still favourites to top the league come the end of the campaign, although admits it is an extremely tight race, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The England international suffered his injury during training ahead of our Community Shield win over Chelsea at the start of the season, and has been on the sidelines ever since.
He highlighted the importance of our recent win over Leicester City, but suggests the quality we’ve got and the players set to return from injury imminently can help guide us to the title.
“Sunday was massive for us,” Wilshere said.
“At 1-0 down it’s a long way back, eight points would have been a big gap.
“Leicester have played great this season but I still think we’re favourites, with that comes pressure. We’ve got [Santi] Cazorla, myself and Danny [Welbeck] coming back. With us returning, hopefully we can do it.”

If we play the way we did against Hull City this past Saturday afternoon then we can’t really expect to win the league, but if we perform the way we know we can then it’s really ours to lose – even if not mathematically so.
We’ve still got to play Tottenham, and you have to believe that Leicester will drop at least a few points between now and the end of the season. With the likes of Cazorla and Wilshere adding more depth to the squad we are in with more than a chance, as we’ve already seen what a returning Welbeck can do.
Arsenal transfer news
Whether we’re favourites or not at this point is questionable, but at the moment it certainly seems to be between us, Leicester, and Tottenham. Manchester City are obviously still in it, but the way they’ve been playing they’re more than a little off the pace.
