Chelsea may lead the Premier League, but it is difficult to remember the number of times – especially since the turn of the year – when they have gone out and dominated teams. Since their 5-0 victory over Swansea in January, they have yet to win by more than one goal, hardly the form of a side that will probably go on to win the title.
Therefore, perhaps it is little surprise that we outnumber Jose Mourinho’s men in a side compiled by WhoScored, as reported in the London Evening Standard.
Here is the team in full:
GK- David Ospina (7.36)
- Wolves star slams Arsenal players – “It was like they won the league”
- [Team news] Wolves vs Arsenal predicted line up: Key stars return
- RB Leipzig insist top Arsenal summer target WON’T be sold
The Colombian has seen off his main rival for the position Thibaut Courtois, having been between the sticks for the entirety of our eight-match winning run. The 26-year-old has kept six clean sheets in 12 league appearances.
RB- Branislav Ivanovic (7.33)
Perhaps surprisingly – given the excellent start that Hector Bellerin has made to his Premier League career – Ivanovic makes it into the side. The Serbian has got some important goals for his side this year however, including the winner against Aston Villa in February and the deciding goal in the Capital One Cup semi-final.
CB- Laurent Koscielny (7.40)
His tackling and natural speed means that Koscielny has been a rock at the heart of our defence. The Frenchman is arguably having his best season at the club, and is therefore having a major influence on the development of Bellerin alongside him.
CB- Per Mertesacker (7.11)
What the German lacks in pace, he makes up for experience and reliability. He has formed a formidable partnership with Koscielny.
