Arsenal are set to step up their efforts to sign a new goalkeeper and are ready to make a bid for Portugal international Rui Patricio, according to RMC Sport.
The report claims the Gunners have been monitoring the Sporting star and will offer £13 million for him this summer.
The 29-year-old is contracted to the Portuguese side until 2022 but admitted earlier this month he did not know how long he would stay at Sporting.
The Gunners are widely expected to sign a goalkeeper this summer with David Ospina being tipped to leave in search of regular game time while first choice Petr Cech will turn 35 in May and is coming towards the end of a long and distinguished career.
Cech has also come in for criticism this season and is currently sidelined with a calf problem that will keep him out of the crucial clash against Manchester City on Sunday as well as games against West Ham and Crystal Palace.
Arsenal have also been linked with Leicester goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel recently while another option is, of course, Wojciech Szczesny who is currently on loan at Roma.

Patricio is a widely experienced goalkeeper who played a starring role for his country last summer as they claimed glory at Euro 2016 in France.
He has spent virtually his entire career at Sporting but has been linked with a move away from the club this season and would prove a cheaper option to Schmeichel.
