Giroud started France’s friendly against Belgium last week and won a penalty in an otherwise disappointing performance, but it seems as though his international commitments will stop there until next season.
The extent of the injury is yet to be revealed and with the players departing for their holidays over the next few weeks, it may not be of an immediate concern for our medical staff.
Having said that, with next season starting earlier than usual due to the European Championships in 2016, Giroud’s pre-season plans could be affected.

Our first pre-season game is just over four weeks away and players are generally back in training on the first week of July.
Calf injuries are usually ones that are difficult to predict, but let’s hope his latest knock is one borne out of fatigue rather than a more pressing underlying issue.
Giroud seemingly has to prove himself every pre-season as fans call for an upgrade in our forward positions in order for us to sustain a title challenge next term.
