Arsenal suffered another blow in the transfer market after it emerged that Arturo Vidal is close to joining Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio reports.
Ne parleremo alle 20.30 su @SkySport 24: @kingarturo23 verso il @FCBayern per 40 milioni. Trattativa in corso con la @juventusfc

Vidal was heavily linked with us earlier on this summer, with some reports suggesting that a deal had already been agreed to bring the 28-year-old to the Emirates Stadium (via The Independent).
However, with Morgan Schneiderlin joining Manchester United, it looks as though we’re set to miss out on another potential midfield addition.
Despite the prominent links, it is difficult to determine whether or not Arsene Wenger seriously explored the potential of bringing the Chilean to north London.
Vidal often plays with little defensive responsibility, and would therefore come into direct competition with Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey for a position we’re well stocked in.

Regardless of any previous interest, it’s a positive for us that Vidal never arrived as Wenger looks to address key areas of weakness in our squad.
Hopefully, we can add an elite centre forward to our team and challenge for the major honours.
Vidal starred for Chile in the Copa America as they clinched their first major trophy.
