Arsenal have been handed a boost in our reported attempts to capture Napoli striker Gonzalo Higuain, with the Argentine certain to leave the Italian club this summer, the Mirror reports.
The report suggests that Napoli’s failure to qualify for the Champions League yet again is the reason behind Higuain’s desire to seek pastures new, and his club would like to sell him abroad.
As heavily reported two summers ago, Higuain seemed close to a move to us, but a deal somehow never materialised (via The Guardian).
Rumours resurfaced this summer after Napoli legend Jose Alberti appeared on Italian television and claimed that Higuain would end up at Arsenal by the end of the transfer window (via the Metro).

A world class striker should be top of Arsene Wenger’s priority should we conclude a deal for Petr Cech (via the Mirror), and Higuain certainly fits that calibre.

The 27-year-old guarantees goals, and unlike Olivier Giroud, he isn’t heavily dependent on perfect service in order to fashion a chance for himself to score.
Cech and Higuain could be enough to clinch the Premier League title. Get it done, Arsene!
