Arsenal have been handed a boost ahead of their Champions League Round of 16 clash with Bayern Munich with Franck Ribery a doubt for the first leg.
The Frenchman has picked up an injury in training which will force him out of action for a couple of weeks the club have confirmed.
The Gunners travel to Allianz Arena for the first leg on February 15 leaving Ribery in a race against time to be fit.
“Franck Ribery had to stop training early on Tuesday morning because of a strain in the right hamstring,” read a Bayern statement.
“He will probably not be available for two weeks due to the injury.”
Arturo Vidal has also hinted that he could miss the home game with Arsenal due to a rib problem although the German side have suggested he could be fit.

“There was better news on Arturo Vidal,” says the statement. “Having completed some parts of team training yesterday, the Chilean stepped up his workload in the freezing cold on Tuesday and is close to returning to action. Arjen Robben, who trained individually yesterday, also came through the entire session.”
Bayern have recently returned to Bundesliga action following their winter break, winning their opening game against Freiburg 2-1 thanks to a late winner from Robert Lewandowski.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side followed that up with another 2-1 win over Werder Bremen and are currently three points clear at the top of the table.
The German champions now face Schalke, Werder Bremen and Ingolstadt before welcoming Arsenal to Allianz Arena with both sides aiming to book their spot in the quarter-finals of the competition.
