Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes that our record in the big games this season gives us a good platform to sustain a league title challenge next term after our 1-1 draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United, he told reporters (via Arsenal.com).
Since the turn of the year, we’ve beaten Manchester City and Liverpool in the Premier League while also knocking Manchester United out of the FA Cup. We have also claimed draws against the Red Devils and Chelsea in the league.
Our naivety in the big games seems to have been slightly addressed which was evident during the closing stages of the game at Old Trafford on Sunday, with the players realising that a draw was a good result for us by refusing to throw a number of men forward for set-pieces.
This, along with our resurgence in 2015, has convinced the boss that we can challenge Chelsea for the league next term.

“I believe that we’ve come out of the season and we feel we have made progress in the Premier League compared to last season because we were consistent against the smaller teams then but this season we are stronger against the big teams,” Wenger suggested.

Our record and performances in the big games has clearly improved and with our efficiency against the teams in the bottom half of the table still evident, we possess all the tools for a sustained title challenge.
However, we must now prove to the world that we’re capable of producing when it matters considering that we’ve threatened to make the final push for a number of years now.
It can’t stressed any further how important this transfer window is.
