Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has this week been encouraged to address his ‘spine’ by former player Thierry Henry if we’re to finally win the Premier League again (via Sky Sports).
A goalkeeper, central defender, holding midfielder and a “top, top-quality” striker are the positions needed according to the Frenchman and it is hard to argue with such a statement.
However, Wenger continues to stress how difficult it is to conduct business at the top level due to the demand of world class talent and very little supply (via The Telegraph).
Arsenal transfer rumours
It’s therefore easy for Henry to name the positions we need in theory but if the right players are not available, there isn’t much that can be done.
We have therefore conducted a bit of research and concluded a list of four players which can fulfil the needs of the club according to our record goalscorer.

Here are some realistic targets who, if signed, could propel us into Premier League favourites next season.
GK) Petr Cech – Chelsea
The legendary ‘keeper seems to be on the move this summer with his position now occupied by Thibaut Courtois. Cech is a player who doesn’t deserve to be anybody’s No.2 and a move across London seems feasible this summer (via Sky Sports). David Ospina has filled in admirably for the occasional calamitous Wojciech Szczesny this season, but it’s unclear whether he can become our bonafide, long-term No.1. The potential arrival of Cech will not only see a world class player enhance the squad, but a player with such a winning experience can only improve the mentality in the dressing room.
