Arsene Wenger has spoken about our lengthy injury list ahead of our Premier League clash with Watford this weekend, and there’s some good news regarding returning players, as reported by the Daily Star.
Jack Wilshere has missed the entire season, but looks set for a return before the end of the campaign. He may play a part with the U21s before he rejoins the senior side, but Wenger was positive about his progress.
“It is his first week back in full training and we’ll see how he responds to that, but the first signs are quite good,” he said.
“We’ll assess our options next week.”
He was also fairly happy with the progress of Petr Cech, who may potentially be ready and available for the game this weekend.
“Cech is going back to normal training,” he continued.

“It’s too early to say if he will be available for the weekend.”
He also commented on Aaron Ramsey, Mathieu Flamini, Santi Cazorla, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, with all four on their way back from injury.
Ramsey and Flamini are expected to miss the game against Watford, but should be back in action after the weekend. Arsenal fans are unlikely to care too much about the Frenchman, but Ramsey’s return will at least give us some more options both in midfield and out wide.
Cazorla and the Ox will be out a little longer, but the manager expects both men to be back before the end of April. The Spaniard is arguably the player we’ve missed the most this season, as we’ve badly struggled to find a midfield pairing that works. That has changed somewhat since the emergence of Mohamed Elneny though, with he and Francis Coquelin forming a great partnership.

It would be great to have all four back for the final run in, even if the title is out of our reach. Injuries and mental failings have seen us stumble once again, giving up fantastic positions in both league and cup competitions. We need to get some kind of revenge against Watford for dumping us out of the FA Cup, even if it was in large part due to our own poor performance.
