Arsene Wenger claims there’s nothing but positive news following the recent international break, with the team looking strong ahead of this weekend’s clash with Watford, as reported by the Daily Star.
Arsenal are often left rueing the arrival of the international break, as more often than not we seem to suffer a glut of injuries around this time. Arsenal fans will be pleasantly surprised by Wenger’s recent comments though, with the Frenchman delivering a glowing assessment of our squad’s injury status.
“From the internationals we only have positive news,” Wenger said.
“We are still waiting for [Joel] Campbell, Alexis [Sanchez] and [David] Ospina to return, but they all texted back to say they are OK, so we just have to see if they were objective in their assessment.”
We seemed to be heading into a patch of fantastic form ahead of the break, with our dominant 3-0 win against Manchester United definitely putting down a marker. The international break arguably came at a bad time, but with the entire team coming back injury free, hopefully we can continue where we left off.
Alexis Sanchez was the main concern following our clash with United, as the Chilean looked in distress come the end of the game. Despite taking part in both Chile’s games against Brazil and Peru – scoring three times in the process – he looks to have come through unscathed.

Obviously we can’t take Watford for granted, but we should be more than capable of getting the win over the newly promoted side. After showing our credentials against Louis van Gaal’s side, we need to kick on and prove we can mount a serious title challenge.
