Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is demanding that we come out of the blocks very quickly in our opening Premier League game against West Ham United considering our start to last season’s campaign, the Daily Mail reports.
After six games last season, we were six points behind champions Chelsea and that is something we cannot afford to experience again.
Our fixture list in the opening few weeks will certainly force our players to focus on the task in hand, with two London derbies and a clash against Liverpool our first three fixtures.
Wenger insists that he cannot stress how important the start to the season will be.

“One of our targets is to start strongly, we’ve had good preparation and that should give us much-needed confidence.
“The Premier League is a fight in every single game so we have to prepare ourselves mentally for that and come out of the blocks straight away against West Ham.”
In West Ham, we’ll certainly be facing a team physically ready for a fight given that they began pre-season training in early July due to their Europa League commitments.
We have a good record against West Ham since their promotion to the Premier League in 2012, and that record is expected to continue on Sunday.
Getting off to a good start with an impressive performance will certainly strengthen the belief of our team and increase the confidence within the squad.
