Alexis Sanchez has been sensational since arriving from Barcelona this past summer, and has been hugely important to the success of our season. Arsene Wenger insists that he can be a little too demanding at times though, and needs to learn to calm down a bit and be more patient.
The Chilean was superb at the start of the season, and more often than not he was the driving force behind the team. We struggled for form at times in the early stages, and he was a shining light during a dark few months.
He faded a little after Christmas, with the massive number of games and no winter break seemingly catching up with him. He has looked somewhere close to back to his best recently, but Wenger claims he needs to watch his temperament.
“Sometimes he is too demanding with himself, too quickly upset when it doesn’t go well for him and he has to learn to be a bit more patient and not to be too quickly upset,” the manager is quoted as saying, as reported on Arsenal.com.
The Frenchman had plenty of positive comments regarding the 26-year-old however, insisting that he was practically the perfect footballer. He is well aware that Sanchez has quickly become a fan favourite at the Emirates, and believes that his fighting spirit and positive attitude is what makes him so popular.

“He is not missing a lot [of qualities]!” Wenger said.
“He has just been voted player of the year by the fans because he is very positive, who always wants to go forward, wants to hurt the opponent and he is also – what the fans like with him – a fighter.
“He is a guy who has a good combination of talent, combative aspect and fighting spirit. That is why he is liked by everybody here.”
Despite looking burnt out at times this season, Sanchez is unlikely to get much of a rest this summer – with the Copa America set to take place. Hopefully he is able to get enough of a break, and comes back next season fully fit and firing on all cylinders.
