Joel Campbell has consistently failed to impress in an Arsenal shirt, but Arsene Wenger insists that he could still make it at the club. The manager claims it’s now or never though, and suggests this could be his last chance, as reported by BT Sport.
Campbell is likely to get his chance against Swansea this weekend, with injuries limiting Wenger’s options somewhat. He’ll need to show he’s up to the challenge though, and that he deserves a spot in our squad.
Wenger claims he still has faith in the Costa Rican, which is why he refused to send him out on loan again. But these next few games could be make or break for the 23-year-old, and like Wenger says, it’s now or never.
“I wanted to keep him here, I felt he has been on loan two or three times and that it is now or never for him with us,” said Wenger.
“For him, as well, you belong to a club, you go one time out, two times out then after that you don’t know any more if you belong to the club or not.”
As much as we’d all love to see Campbell succeed at the club, it’s hard to see it happening. He has looked out of his depth in every outing so far, and really doesn’t seem to have the quality required to make it at a club the size of Arsenal.
