Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis has promised fans that any player walking through the doors at the Emirates Stadium this summer will be of a ‘top class’ calibre, he told Arsenal Player.
Gazidis has been criticised heavily by Arsenal fans in recent years with many not understanding his defined role at the club, but that has since been altered.
Confidence and trust has been restored between the chief executive and the fanbase due to the signings of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil, as well as his influence in securing the massive sponsorship deals which enabled us to bring those top players to the club.
According to Gazidis, the job is not done and he stated that only players of true pedigree can improve our squad.

“We’ve got a good financial position at the club, so we’re really healthy going into the summer,” Gazidis said.

“The additions that Arsene will make will only be if we’re finding really top class players that fulfil a need that we have.”
Gazidis’ comments are music to our ears considering that this summer bears huge importance on if we’re to wrestle the Premier League title off Chelsea next season.
We finished 12 points behind the champions last season and in order to make up that deficit while countering any additions the Blues will make, top-class players must be brought in.
Should we add a goalkeeper, holding midfielder and a striker, all of top quality, then we can certainly look forward to a sustained title challenge next term.
