The Gunners have lined up official announcements for the arrivals of Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez and are now reported to seal their seventh transfer deal before the window closes. Lanus midfielder Miguel Almiron is the man in the spot light, who has reportedly attracted interest by Arsenal and could join before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday evening.
According to Italian newspaper Tuttomercatoweb, Arsene Wenger is in the process of bringing Almiron to Arsenal despite suggesting there will be no further signings.
The source suggests talks are ongoing between the two clubs for the midfielder and a deal is expected to be completed. A bid of £9.4 million has been launched by Arsenal but Lanus is holding out for a fee of £11.1 million for the Paraguay International.
The 22-year-old broke ranks in the youth team of Paraguayan club Cerro Porteno and found a place in the first team in 2013. He left the club last summer to join his current Argentinian side Lanus, where he scored two goals and made one assist in the twelve league appearances he made last season.
He was also included in Paraguay’s squad and had the opportunity to represent his country in Copa America held earlier this summer.
Almiron plays as a left winger for his current side Lanus and his skill set includes dribbling, pace and strong tackling capabilities. A keen eye to identify goal scoring opportunities, the attacking midfielder could well link up well with Mesut Ozil and Granit Xhaka in the future.

Arsenal has become heavily dependent on short passes over recent seasons except for long range assists by Ozil from time to time. Increase in long-range passes can add depth to Arsenal’s style of play which can strategically prove vital against stronger teams.
A deal for Almiron will make him Arsene’s seventh signing of the summer with Mustafi and Perez set for announcements. Granit Xhaka, Takuma Asano, Rob Holding and Kelechi Nwakali are all the players Arsenal have added to the squad during the current transfer window.
