The Gunners are set to sign both Chile forward Alexis Sanchez and France’s defensive midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin, according to Francois Pinet, a French football expert who works for Tele Mundial.
The Gunners are desperate to sign a midfield enforcer and a striker this summer, and now the two World Cup stars (valued at a total of £42) have been labelled as high on the priority list if the reports are to be believed.
Sanchez has been vital in Chile’s road to the Last 16, he netted against Brazil, but unfortunately missed his penalty that helped the hosts progress to the Quarter Finals. The Barcelona forward has been immense but has been deemed surplus to requirements with the Catalan giants as they look to reinforce their squad.
Meanwhile, Southampton’s Schneiderlin is looking for the next big step in his career, especially with a host of their star players heading out of the St Mary’s exit door.
Pinet declared the duo are imminent arrivals at Emirates this summer, he posted on his twitter account:
Our sources indicate that Alexis Sanchez and Morgan Schneiderlin are heading to Arsenal @itelefoot #20hfoot
The reporter has been known among Gooners for breaking both the Olivier Giround and Laurent Koscielny transfers, however whether his statement has much substance is still unknown.

Sanchez has been talk of the town recently, both Manchester United and Liverpool are also heavily linked with his signature, however Wenger must do all he can to secure the Chilean star. He would add the speed and directness we crave up front, while he can cover for Walcott on the wing if needed. He’s hardly been useless in Spain, scoring a massive 19 goals in La Liga last season with 10 assists to boot. Seems beyond me why Barca want to sell, but no complaints if we manage to get him.
Schneiderlin also appears attainable with his future up in the air. He would be an interesting signing, coming in with plenty of Premier League experience, the France international could push both Mikel Arteta and compatriot Mathieu Flamini for a starting spot from the get-go. At 24-years-old he has plenty of room to develop and grow as a player under Arsene Wenger – who no doubt has been keeping a close eye on his progress with France this summer.
Sami Khedira remains my favorite pick for the defensive midfield role however, but Schneiderlin appears the most attainable and realistic option. I’ll leave you with recent quotes from the Frenchman during a recent press conference.
He stated:
Listen, I’m aware of Southampton’s situation.
On a personal level, the club know my position and know what I want to do. I had a good conversation with all the directors.
I’ve been there for a long time now. We’ll see how things go, but the directors know my position and what my intentions are.
Everyone has ambitions, everyone has his own future in his hands, so we’ll see. Every player wants to play on big occasions.
