Arsenal are interested in making a move for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye this summer, who has been likened to N’Golo Kante, according to The Sun.
The report claims the Gunners are keen to bolster their midfield and view the Senegal international as the perfect candidate after he impressed Arsene Wenger’s scouts.
Gueye moved to Everton from Aston Villa last summer and has made 25 appearances for Ronald Koeman’s side this season, impressing many with his tackles and ability to win the ball back.
The 27-year-old was brought to Goodison Park by Steve Walsh, who worked with Kante at Leicester and has recently admitted Gueye could go on to have a similar impact to the Chelsea man.
“He’s very grounded, gets whacked, gets up, gets around people when they have the ball, very much like Kante,” he told The Times.
“I’d say his use of the ball is slightly better, even if he’s not quite as good at retrieving.”

After winning the Premier League with Leicester last season, Kante looks set to win the title again with Chelsea this season after a superb campaign that has left many tipping him to be named the Player of the Year.
Wenger has previously admitted he twice to tried to sign Kante and the midfielder is exactly the kind of presence Arsenal need at the heart of their team.
While Gueye has not reached those heights yet he has certainly shone in an Everton side that are currently just two points behind Manchester United in the league.
