After the win against Swansea, Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny spoke about the result and his goalscoring exploits over the past few games (via Arsenal.com). The French defender has now scored in two games in a row in the Premier League, netting against both Swansea and Everton. His goalscoring contributions have come at the perfect time for the Gunners, who are faced with an injury crisis heading into a crucial game against Bayern Munich this week.
Speaking to Arsenal Player, Koscielny highlighted the importance of the result, saying, “It is very important to win. We didn’t play very well in the first half, Swansea had the ball and played well. Obviously in the second half we played more forward with the quality in our passing so it was the difference. We scored three goals which is important and we kept a clean sheet so it is important to put our wins a row. We kept a clean sheet and scored three goals so we are happy.
“I don’t know [if the goal should have been disallowed]. I tried to stay in front of it and try to keep the ball. I don’t know what happened behind me but I had the ball in front of me and I scored. I’m happy with it. Olivier [Giroud] told me I can score so I shot at goal and it went in.”
The player also spoke about compatriot Olivier Giroud, who is on a hot streak at the moment. The striker has scored four times in the previous five games and is our main threat heading into the game at the Allianz Arena.
“I think he works very hard because he did not play a lot of games in September and October and I think he was hungry,” Koscielny continued.
“He trained hard to be back and to play and you saw him against Bayern, he came on to the pitch and did well. Against Everton as well you saw it was important to keep a positive mentality as a team your team win. We have the quality up front to make the difference. We have Alexis [Sanchez] who has the quality to win.”

Alexis has the capability to win any match on his own, but the Chilean has seemed out-of-sorts lately. Thus, it falls to Mesut Özil and Giroud to produce the goods once more as we travel to the home of the German giants.
