Joel Campbell has seemingly become surplus to requirements at Arsenal this season, but that doesn’t mean Arsene Wenger is willing to let him go cheap. Serie A side Palermo are apparently interested, but have been told that they have to double their original £3.5m offer if they want to secure his signature, as reported by talkSPORT.
Campbell enjoyed a fantastic World Cup in 2014, and was tipped to succeed at Arsenal. He failed to establish himself however, and was consequently loaned out during the second half of last season.
The Costa Rican star wasn’t included in our pre-season tour of Asia, which only served to increase speculation that he was set for a more permanent exit this summer.
Despite the 23-year-old unlikely to have a future at the Emirates, he is still a promising young talent. Wenger clearly has no intention of letting him go for less than he’s worth, and has therefore demanded £7m from any potential suitors.

The report from talkSport claims Campbell is also attracting interest from Spain – where he spent time on loan – and with more clubs in the race there is more chance of a bidding war being started.
