The Champions League group stage draw has been conducted in Monaco this evening which presented a slightly new scenario for us.
For the first time in 15 years, we were included in pot 2 which means that we could be potentially be included in a tougher a group.
While many were keen to avoid the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Paris Saint-Germain, the prospect of being included in a group with lesser opposition such as Benfica and PSV was also a possibility.

Teams from the same countries couldn’t be drawn against each other at this stage, which gives the competition more of a European element.
Given that we’ve been eliminated at the last-16 stage of this competition for the past five years, Arsene Wenger certainly has a great task on his hands in order for us to make more of an impact in Europe’s top competition.
