Arsenal strikers Lukas Podolski and Yaya Sanogo actually have better scoring records than Chelsea’s Diego Costa in the Champions League this season.
Arsenal transfer news
Granted, given our disappointing display against Monaco, Arsenal fans aren’t really in any position in which to gloat but Costa and his side quite hilariously crashed out of the competition last night against Paris Saint Germain despite a man advantage.
However, in doing so Costa exited Europe this season without being able to find the net in seven games.
That stat is in stark contrast to the fortunes of both Sanogo and Podolski who despite being considered flops by some have managed to find the net on four occasions between them.

Yes, one of the contenders for Player of the Season has come second to Sanogo, who scored a memorable first ever Arsenal goal against Borussia Dortmund.
Meanwhile, Lukas Podolski hit the back of the net three times in the group stages – twice against Galatasaray and another against Anderlecht.
Perhaps even more galling for Costa, Sanogo only managed two European appearances this season and whilst Podolski did gain five, four of those saw him start the match on the bench.
Both have since been sent on loan with Podolski heading to Inter Milan whilst Sanogo has remained in the Premier League with Crystal Palace.
