Arsenal have enjoyed a good week with the completion of the signing of Gabriel, which was followed by the emphatic win against Aston Villa at the home of football.
There were many outstanding performances on the day, but ESPN highlighted the performances of Spanish duo Hector Bellerin and Santi Cazorla for special mention.
Who would argue with that? For Bellerin, the 19-year-old has certainly benefited from the unfortunate injury to Mathieu Debuchy and has made the Frenchman’s previously assured place in the starting XI relatively uncertain.
His calm finish against Villa at the death rounded off an accomplished performance in which Bellerin displayed his attacking prowess, having shown the previous week he can be defensively sound too in our win against Man City at the Etihad.

Cazorla’s inclusion comes as no surprise as he is arguably the best player in the division at the moment, having picked up the Premier League player of the month award for December before the game on Sunday – our little magician is surely a shoe-in for the same award in January given his superlative performances.
Nevertheless, Mesut Ozil had a strong case of being included given the virtuoso performance he produced and we certainly hope the World Cup winner can deliver a similar showing on Saturday.
