Arsenal stars Laurent Koscielny and Alexis Sanchez were named in Jamie Carragher’s Premier League team of the year with the former Liverpool man announcing his team on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football, the Mirror reports.
While the decision to include Alexis was unanimous between him and Gary Neville, Carragher’s fondness of Koscielny has been well documented over the past few months.
It’s satisfying to see Koscielny finally getting the recognition he deserves following a sustained period of sensational performances for us.
Arsenal transfer news
Internally, the Frenchman’s talents and importance have been noted but many onlookers haven’t been convinced – but Carragher certainly has.
“I think he’s a top centre back and the difference he makes to that team and the influence he has, especially on Mertesacker next to him and that back four,” Carragher was quoted as saying.

Koscielny has transformed our fortunes after recovering from his chronic achilles issues in the second part of the season, rekindling his partnership with Per Mertesacker.
At the age of 29, the Frenchman has entered the peak years of his career and it’s imperative we profit from that and build a squad capable of challenging for the league title.
