Arsenal are reportedly eyeing a deal in the region of £35m for Premier League duo Morgan Schneiderlin and Petr Cech in order to mount a title challenge next season, the Daily Express reports.
As we aim to finish second in the Premier League, next season can only be defined as progression should we win the title, and it seems as though the club is looking to do some serious business in the transfer window.
Cech looks certain to depart the champions this summer after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois, and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has stressed that the club will respect his wishes (via the Daily Mail).
Arsenal transfer news
As for Schneiderlin, the fact that Southampton are set to miss out on Champions League football could force the club to sell their star man this summer.
According to The Telegraph, Cech and Schneiderlin are two of the prime options in the positions we want to strengthen in the close season, as well as a possible replacement for Theo Walcott should he not sign a new contract.
